One month - already?

I can't believe it, Hayes is already a month old! Time has flown by!! He is still sleeping for a good portion of the day, but is staying awake for longer period of time - sometimes up to two hours. We have started going on daily walks while Dustin is at work - not sure if Hayes likes them or not, I cover his face with a hat to keep the sun out of his eyes.

Hayes is 3 weeks

This week Hayes got to meet Dustin's parents - Nana and Papa. They were very excited to get to meet their newest grandson. Connie stayed all week and was a big help. I am not looking forward to her leaving!

Hayes is becoming more alert each day. He now turns his head and looks up at us while talking. He also smiles often, I know it is most likely due to gas, but I like to think he is smiling at me! J Poor little guy always has the hiccups – it is really pitiful to watch.

Dustin and I went on our first date tonight since Hayes was born. We went to a new local bar called The Blue Door for happy hour. A big thank you to Connie for watching Hayes and letting us leave for a little while.

Here are a few pictures from the week:

It cracks me up that he throws his hands up like this while sleeping - future football ref??

Pictures

There was a photographer at the hospital that took a few pictures of Hayes. Here are a few of my favorites:

2 weeks old :)

I did not take as many pictures this week; therefore I do not have very many good ones to choose from. My goal this next week is to take a lot more pictures of the little guy to share. This past week Hayes has really started getting fussy when he is tired. He really fights trying to go sleep and cries and swings his little arms like he is swimming. He usually ends up hitting himself in the face and getting angry. Here are a few from this past week:

Tummy time again? But Mom, you know I hate it!

Dad, what do you mean you want to sleep? It's play time!

Hayes is 1 week old!

Hayes Stanley Tommerup was born on September 20th at 10:07 pm. He weighed in at 8 pounds 12 ounces. At the time of his birth they told us that he was 20.25 inches, Dustin was adamant that the nurse told him a longer length, when the doctor remeasured on Wednesday they said he 21.25 inches.

We got to bring Hayes home on Saturday. I feel like we have already learned so much in the last week of how to take care of him. He still sleeps most of the day, and is pretty happy when he is awake. We have been lucky enough to have mom here to help us. Grandma Lou has been changing a ton of diapers, getting up at night to keep me company during feedings, cleaning, and cooking. We also have a lot of great friends in Midland who have either already brought us dinner, or have let us know they plan to very soon. We are very blessed.

At last, we finally meet :)

Less than 3 weeks.....

Hayes will be here in less than three weeks! My due date is still September 17th, we have set up an induction date of September 20th just to be safe. My doctor won't let me go past 41 weeks, and Dustin wanted me to be induced on a Thursday if I was induced, so the 20th is the date. If we make it that far (which I think we will) Dustin and I are supposed to be at the hospital at 4:00 am. Really real now that we have a date - I hope that I go into labor before then, I think if I don't I will be really stressed/anxious/nervous as the 20th approaches.

Several of my really good friends hosted a baby shower for me in Midland. I didn't get as many pictures as I had hoped, so as soon as Tristan emails me some, I will post pictures from that shower. My office also had a baby shower for us - Dustin and I are truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends in our lives - to put it mildly, Hayes is already spoiled!
